Time
to put GOD on the Shelf…
God Bless America.
Surely you Jest! Where was this Omnipotent God when the Terrorists were flying
the planes into the buildings? Taking
a nap? Talking to Tiger Woods about
his Golf game? He certainly
wasn’t watching New York City on September 11th 2001, that's for
sure. What was this All Knowing
& All Seeing God doing on when Timothy McVeigh decided to drive a truck
filled with explosives into a Federal Building in Oklahoma City? Was he sneaking a mid day snack from the fridge?
Maybe he was talking to Anna Kournikova and telling her it’s all right
her Tennis Game is off, because she is easy on the eyes.
Man fabricated God.
God is a man made lie. It
needs to go away now. It’s
getting old. We all know Santa Clause isn’t
real. It’s a lie the parents pass
on from generation to generation to make their children behave better.
It’s a lie to make them feel special and loved.
It’s a lie to see the glimmer in their eyes when they wake up on the
morning of December 25th. We
all know we put the presents under the tree when they went to bed. We all know The Easter Bunny
isn’t real. An innocent Bunny
Rabbit that goes around from house to house in April to hide Easter Eggs.
This Bunny brings Easter Baskets full of candy and other goodies for all
of the little boys and girls. We
all know we hid the eggs and made the baskets for the kids to have. We all know the Tooth Fairy
isn’t real. The Tooth Fairy comes
in the middle of the night and places a Dollar under your pillow for every tooth
you’ve lost. We all know this is
to ease the pain and horror of loosing a tooth.
To comfort them and teach them it is a natural thing when your Adult
teeth grow into place and push the baby teeth out. Again, We all know we went into their bedroom when they were
sleeping and took the tooth, and left the money there under their pillow. It’s time to take the next one
off the shelf. You guessed it, God.
I am not sure how other people feel about the lies they have been told by
their caring and loving parents while they were growing up.
I was furious when I caught my Father putting the presents under the
trees. I watched them hide
the Eggs, and I am a very light sleeper. If everyone would just stop
passing on this wonderful lie of Jesus Christ’s life. And of a God who resides
in Heaven. If everyone would just
put God on the shelf and admit it has been the longest living lie, we will be
able to move forward. You put
something on the Shelf when it has outlived it use.
You put something on the Shelf when you grow tired of playing with it.
We need to put God on the shelf. A lot of you might want to pause
to think about what will happen when God is placed on this shelf along side
Santa Clause, The Easter Bunny, and The Tooth fairy.
Some people could not imagine living a life without these wonderful lies.
These Characters need NOT to be seen for their face value of helping the
kids, and making the kids behave and making them smile.
These Characters need to be seen for the damage they cause by keeping
these lies alive and in these children’s lives. In creating these Characters
society has instilled in their Children false hope, a false sense of pride, and
have even gone so far as to make crime something worth looking forward to being
done. We know the Characters
aren’t real, and when the Children “come of age” and either catch you in
the lie, or were viciously told by a friend of their the truth about these
Characters, It angers them. It
tells these innocent and loving Children that their parents who have been
raising them, caring for them, and loving them have been LYING to them the
entire time.
We try and teach our Children to never lie.
We tell them that even a little white lie, which might never hurt anyone,
is bad. As an adult we all know
that with the first lie you have tell, you will have to lie from that moment on
to constantly cover up for the very first innocent little lie.
This is a snowball effect we can easily avoid. We need to put God on the Shelf, and stop lying about Religion. We need to let our Children think for themselves. We need to not shove religion down their throats and let them go to Church if they WANT to, not because YOU want them to. We have the First Amendment Right, which grants us Freedom of Religion, but we don’t exercise those rights like they were meant. If you make your Children do something because you do it, is this allowing them to make up their own mind? If you tell your Children they have to go to Church and believe in Jesus Christ and God, this is exercising the Freedom of Speech and it’s also known as shoving your religion down their throat, and not Freedom of Religion as it was meant.
If society would start to take responsibility for their actions, and be
honest with them selves, and obey the laws of the land, we would not need a God
to Bless America. Written
